Juan van Emmerloot

Juan started playing drums at the age of 10. He joined his first band and played on stage when he was 13 years old. He continued studying music in school until the age of 17. The next step he took was intensive musical training at the Rotterdam Conservatory in the Netherlands.

En tant que session-man batteur, Juan joue pour un certain nombre d'artistes, incluant les artistes hollandais:
Kaz Lux (Brain Box), Julya Lo'Ko et Robby Valentine.

His passion for touring and meeting musicians from other countries, turned him into an international session-player. From 1993 he played on stage with various guitar players and singers such as:

1994
Mick Moody & Bernie Marsden (White Snake)

1996 Walter Trout (John Mayal Band)

1996 Poppa Chubby

1996 Omar Dykes (Omar & The Howlers)

In the years following, Juan performed on tour in Europe with some of the world's greatest guitarists:

1997-2000
Snowy White (Pink Floyd, Thin Lizzy)

1998 Mick Rogers (Manfred Man's Earthband)

1998 Pat Travers

1998 and 2001 Steve Lukather (Toto)

In 1996 & 1999, Juan toured Japan with Valentine and Valensia.

In August 2000, he was on tour in California with acoustic guitarist Peppino D'Agostino.

December 2001, he played with Steve Lukather in the Amsterdam Heineken Hall.

March 2002, an eight-concert tour with Walter Trout in Holland, as part of a tribute to Jimi Hendrix.

September 2004, you can find him on stage again in The Netherlands with Popa Chubby in "De Boerderij" Zoetermeer and "013" in Tilburg

Although Juan's music is influenced by funk, jazz and Latin, his way of playing has turned into a strong grooving rock-based style, combined with percussion flavoured arrangements.

Having met acoustic guitarist Peppino D'Agostino (USA) in December of 1999 this created for Juan a new and exciting challenge. Working with Peppino meant «the freedom to play more than just drums; by using more dynamics and even more colourful sounds». For these concerts Juan designed a special stage set-up that continues to serve his acoustic adventures and his outstanding creative imagination.
