USA NE Omaha
The Qwest Center
By Eric Bruner:
The Roger Waters tour stopped in Omaha Nebraska last night and the only seat's still for sale at show time were behind the stage.
The Quest Center can hold 18,300 in concert mode so when a show like this comes to town you can bet tickets will sell. We drove for five hour's to see the closest thing to Pink Floyd there will ever be. We all pray for a reunion but every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time.
When the light's went down you could actually feel the energy start to race through your body. Then In The Flesh, with the classic marching hammers. Next song Mother, then Set The Controls For the Heart Of The Sun, By this time the giant video back drop has the crowd in a state of shock and aw.
Shine On You Crazy Diamond, Have A Cigar, Wish You Were Here, Southampton Dock, The Fletcher Memorial Home, Perfect Sense parts 1 and 2 with awesome vocals from his back up lady's.
Then Rogers played his solo Leaving Beirut,it was a little out of place here and a good time to sit for a few minuets, then Sheep with the flying pig got the crowd back on there feet. Snowy White was out front for the whole set and got a huge round of applause when Roger introduced him.
After the break it was time for The Dark Side of the Moon. The band played the classic album note for note. I was very impressed with the sound quality, not to loud like some indoor venues. I actually found myself wanting them to turn it up. Snowy's awesome guitar licks were loud and clear all night.
For the encore it was, The Happiest Days Of Our Lives, Another Brick In The Wall (Pt 2), Vera, Bring the Boys back Home, And then the show came to an end with Comfortably Numb.
I had seen this tour in Chicago last year and let me say this, all you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be.
I will look back at this show with a smile on my face for the rest of my life. This music has stood the test of time and seeing this show will bring peace to your soul.
